During the holiday season, it truly is better to give than to receive. This year, Arizona College is getting back to the basics of what the holidays are really about with our annual Arizona College Christmas Angel Tree and Thanksgiving Adopt a Family events, which are all about providing assistance and support to those students who are in need of a helping hand. During the holiday season, Arizona College’s Director of Student Services & Career Services will be coordinating these events to give back to select students. During past years, the Thanksgiving Adopt a Family event included feeding four families within the student body full Thanksgiving meals. These meals were complete with everything from the Thanksgiving turkey and all the trimmings, to pumpkin waffles for the next morning’s breakfast, handmade by Arizona College staff members. Dobson, is planned for this November with recruitment beginning shortly after for those who wish to start their chosen allied health training program in January 2013! A wide variety of programming will be available for students at Arizona College’s new Mesa campus, including the following career paths: Health Information Technology – Health Information Technology is an allied health career field for those with strong organizational and data management skills. Our programs feature billing and coding training and the opportunity to gain real-world experience in this field through an externship prior to graduation. From November 4-10, 2012, Allied Health Professionals Week will be celebrated nationally to honor healthcare professionals working in the allied health field across the country. Allied healthcare professionals include Medical Assistants, Dental Assistants, Massage Therapists, and Pharmacy Technicians, among others. Each specialized allied health profession has its own day or week during the year that recognizes its particular specialty – and Allied Health Professions Week is a time to celebrate all of them collectively. In addition, Allied Health Professionals Week exists to promote, celebrate, and raise public awareness and appreciation for all of those in the healthcare industry that do not include doctors and nurses. Arizona College Announces New Mesa Campus Location!

The city of Mesa is fast becoming a hub for higher education as a number of new schools, including Arizona College (formerly Arizona College of Allied Health), will be opening their doors in the coming year. Mesa’s city center is transitioning into a popular gathering place for students and academics. The new Mesa campus location at 163 North Dobson Road is just a short walk from the light rail stop at Dobson and Main Street, allowing allied healthcare students to study, live, and play in this growing and thriving area of the East Valley.
