When you begin your search for a job as a Massage Therapist, there are several important factors to keep in mind. Instead of blindly searching – stop and create a vision for yourself as a Massage Therapist. What do you envision about your Massage Therapy job? What kind of environment do you envision – spa, chiropractic, naturopathic, or even starting your own business?
There are many ways to start searching for jobs as a Massage Therapist. Be sure to utilize your school’s career services. Arizona College’s Career Services department can assist you with community relationships, mock interviews, resume assistance, and job leads.

It is also important to take ownership of your career by searching on a variety of online job boards.  Social networking can play a crucial role in obtaining a position by introducing you to the local massage therapist community.  If there is a place that piques your interest, stop in and introduce yourself to find out about potential employment opportunities. Even if they aren’t hiring, it is a great way to find out more about the facility and makes for excellent interview practice. It’s also a good idea to make an appointment for a service at places you’re interested in working at to get first-hand knowledge about the people who work there and to get a feel for their philosophy on healing.

There is no single place a Massage Therapist should strive to work – it is completely dependent on your own vision and individual preferences. Be sure to utilize your instructors and the Career Services department if you have any questions or concerns.
