Massage Therapy is the skillful practice of using touch to affect tense and tired soft tissues of the body. It is the applied science of using one’s hands to reduce the pain, fatigue and movement limitations associated with aggravated muscular areas. At Arizona College of Allied Health, our Massage Therapy Program provides the education and on-site comprehensive training needed so that upon completion of coursework, you may effectively approach your client/patient needs. Here, we teach a variety of massage modalities and techniques to aid you in a successful career!
Arizona College provides a strong background in anatomy and physiology to benefit your understanding of movement, postural alignment and structural dysfunction. Our Massage Therapy program incorporates training on equipment such as massage tables, massage chairs, anatomy charts, human skeletons, hot stones and anatomical DVDs. Arizona College also offers classes in Business and Marketing to provide the knowledge for students to market and promote their services as an employee or entrepreneur.
Massage therapists can work in a variety of settings such as private offices, hospitals, fitness centers, sports medicine facilities or spas. Some massage therapists may also travel to their client’s homes or offices.

Employment is expected to grow faster than average, and the BLS estimates employment will be 145,600 in 2018. Arizona College Program Details
The Massage Therapy diploma program is three quarters. Each quarter is ten weeks divided into two five-week sessions. After the on-campus portion of the program, each student completes a five-week (200 hours is required) externship in the College’s Massage Clinic, in the last session of the program. Including the externship, the entire program requires approximately 30 weeks.
Licensing Information
To practice as a Massage Therapist, you must be licensed in the State of Arizona. Arizona College’s Massage Therapy program qualifies our graduates to be a Licensed Massage Therapist by the Arizona State Board of Massage Therapy. Graduates of Arizona College are required to fill out an application form and pay a fee in order to become licensed.
