Glendale Campus Remodel

Categories: Uncategorized

Over the last few months, Arizona College has been in the process of remodeling our Glendale campus.  We have been in this location over ten years and it’s nice to freshen up the look and feel of the campus, based on the design of the Mesa campus. We updated all of our labs, expanded the student lounge, added classroom space, and created better areas for students and staff to work. The main lobby has new stainless steel and glass doors and has been completely opened up, resulting in more light and open space!  We also moved our faculty, student services, and career services into one area to better serve our students and facilitate work among our staff. At the very least, each room got a fresh coat of paint and new floors – many rooms got much more.  It was a lot of work on everyone’s part, and a little…

Arizona College Christmas Angel Tree

Categories: Uncategorized

It’s official; the Holiday Season is here!  Can you believe that Christmas is only 3 weeks away?!  In keeping with Arizona College tradition, our lovely blue and silver Arizona College Christmas Angel Tree is currently displayed in the front lobby. Our Christmas Angel Tree is similar to the Angel Trees you see at the malls, however, the items donated are actually for our students and their family!  These needs were based upon individual nominations within the student body. The tree has Arizona College ornaments displayed; on the back of each ornament, a simple item is listed.  These donations will help provide presents for their children and loved ones.  What an amazing gift! If you would like to help a fellow student and family this holiday season, you can purchase the item listed, and return the UNWRAPPED item along with the ornament tag to Ms. Vanslyke by December 17th, 2013.  Thank…

Arizona College is Thankful this Thanksgiving

Arizona College is Thankful this holiday season…  Thanksgiving is here and with Christmas less than 4 weeks away, it is nice to sit back and reflect on the accomplishments of the year.   Arizona College has many of them.   The approval and launch of our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program located at our new Mesa Campus, our Glendale Campus remodel and ABHES site visit with zero compliance violations, to name a few.  On a daily basis, we have the opportunity to educate students and assist them in reaching their full professional potential and help them to find jobs in their field of study, which changes their lives forever. Arizona College has an amazing staff and student body that truly cares about their fellow coworkers and classmates.  Like years in the past, this Thanksgiving, Arizona College held a Holiday Food Drive, creating Thanksgiving Family Food Baskets for students in need.  Each…

Nursing: Career Paths in Nursing

Categories: Nursing

In addition to working in an extremely rewarding field, Nurses enjoy the benefit of being able to choose from a wide range of career paths that offer diverse job environments. Not all Registered Nurses work in a hospital environment. Offering a fair amount of autonomy, RNs can work in home healthcare services, which includes providing care for patients who have recently been discharged from the hospital and are recovering in their own homes. Many RNs do work in hospitals and other round-the-clock facilities, but if these hours aren’t for you, working in a physician’s office can be an excellent solution. Physicians typically have office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and eight-hour shifts tend to be the standard. For those who want to explore and travel throughout the states, Travel Nursing can be a highly rewarding career. Travel Nurses take on short-term assignments in various locations throughout the country.…
