Arizona College is excited to announce the addition of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program to its offering of allied health training programs. The new Nursing program at Arizona College will prepare students for a rewarding career as a Registered Nurse (RN), where they will practice in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment. Registered Nurses have a wide range of responsibilities, including educating patients and the public about various health conditions, providing emotional support to patients and family members, and coordinating patient care. With a variety of work environments to choose from, Registered Nurses may practice in physicians’ offices, hospitals, nursing care facilities, military environments, and outpatient care centers. Dental Assisting is the perfect career path for those who possess excellent communication skills, are good at multitasking, and enjoy working one on one with patients. Dental Assistant duties range from direct patient care to record keeping. The Dental Assistant program at Arizona College sets students up for success by training them on the various instruments used in a dental office, how to perform daily tasks, assist the dentist during procedures, sterilize equipment, interact with patients, and everything else needed to keep a dental office running smoothly. The Dental Assistant has a great deal of interaction with patients, including supporting the patient during dental procedures, taking X-rays, and providing patients with postoperative instructions and general oral health information. Arizona College Agency Department

At Arizona College, our Agency Department serves the local community by providing outreach and customer service geared toward students and case managers from workforce agencies, vocational rehabilitation, Native American tribes, veterans administrations, and more. So far in 2013, the Agency’s Business Department has had a very busy year. A new team member joined the department in January – Jan Lemau – as the Tribal Agency Liaison. Jan brings a wealth of experience to the team from her many years in the education field and she greatly enjoys working with students and individuals in the local community. In her new position, Jan spends a great deal of time on the road, as she has a lot of ground to cover – Arizona is home to 23 federally recognized tribes.
