Nowadays, most people are looking for a job that’s high in demand. But what about finding a job you can look forward to each day? Pharmacy Technicians get to help people every day, which can be highly rewarding. In a pharmacy setting, Pharmacy Technicians provide much-needed patient care, all while keeping track of important, sensitive information. In school, technicians will not only learn how to prepare medications and fill prescriptions, but they will receive training on how to check for drug incompatibilities. Any student working to become a Pharmacy Technician should enjoy working with people and have excellent skills in customer service.  Working under a licensed Pharmacist, the job often requires you to discuss medications with the patient, including explaining dosage, drug side effects, and possible drug interactions, and also address any other questions or concerns the patient may have.

Administrative duties are also a big part of being a certified Pharmacy Technician. From handling sensitive patient information to documenting drug histories, Pharmacy Technicians are required to learn complex computer programs, and often function as a cashier as well.

If you are interested in a career as a Pharmacy Technician, it’s important to find an accredited pharmacy school that will provide you with the education you need to be successful. Let Arizona College of Allied Health provide you with pharmacy school information and details about the pharmacy technician certification process.
