Arizona College Christmas Angel Tree

Categories: Uncategorized

It’s official; the Holiday Season is here!  Can you believe that Christmas is only 3 weeks away?!  In keeping with Arizona College tradition, our lovely blue and silver Arizona College Christmas Angel Tree is currently displayed in the front lobby. Our Christmas Angel Tree is similar to the Angel Trees you see at the malls, however, the items donated are actually for our students and their family!  These needs were based upon individual nominations within the student body. The tree has Arizona College ornaments displayed; on the back of each ornament, a simple item is listed.  These donations will help provide presents for their children and loved ones.  What an amazing gift! If you would like to help a fellow student and family this holiday season, you can purchase the item listed, and return the UNWRAPPED item along with the ornament tag to Ms. Vanslyke by December 17th, 2013.  Thank…

Arizona College is Thankful this holiday season…  Thanksgiving is here and with Christmas less than 4 weeks away, it is nice to sit back and reflect on the accomplishments of the year.   Arizona College has many of them.   The approval and launch of our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program located at our new Mesa Campus, our Glendale Campus remodel and ABHES site visit with zero compliance violations, to name a few.  On a daily basis, we have the opportunity to educate students and assist them in reaching their full professional potential and help them to find jobs in their field of study, which changes their lives forever. Nursing: Career Paths in Nursing

Categories: Nursing

In addition to working in an extremely rewarding field, Nurses enjoy the benefit of being able to choose from a wide range of career paths that offer diverse job environments. Not all Registered Nurses work in a hospital environment. Offering a fair amount of autonomy, RNs can work in home healthcare services, which includes providing care for patients who have recently been discharged from the hospital and are recovering in their own homes. Many RNs do work in hospitals and other round-the-clock facilities, but if these hours aren’t for you, working in a physician’s office can be an excellent solution. Physicians typically have office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and eight-hour shifts tend to be the standard. For those who want to explore and travel throughout the states, Travel Nursing can be a highly rewarding career. Travel Nurses take on short-term assignments in various locations throughout the country.…

Communication in Massage Therapy

Categories: Massage Therapy

When working directly with clients, it is essential for Massage Therapists to not only practice effective massage techniques, but to listen and communicate with their clients to create a peaceful, comfortable environment while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism. Before beginning a massage, it’s a good idea to sit down and explain the nature of the massage and the techniques that will be used. This is a good time to determine the massage pressure your client prefers and whether your client desires music or quiet during their treatment. Always let your client know that you welcome their questions and feedback during a massage session. When a client knows what to expect from a massage, it will aid them in having the best possible experience. A therapist should be able to put their patient at ease and discuss any pain or discomfort the patient may be feeling. During the massage, it…

As a Pharmacy Technician in a mail-order pharmacy, the goal is to ensure that customers receive the highest level of care by providing quality service that emphasizes patient convenience. Unlike traditional pharmacy settings, mail-order Pharmacy Technicians don’t deal directly with the public; rather, medications are mailed from the pharmacy and delivered to patients’ homes. Daily tasks for a Pharmacy Technician in a mail-order pharmacy can range from filling individual vials to replenishing large dispensing cells, preparing medications and compounds, and entering patient and prescription information into the database. It’s crucial to have excellent written and oral communication skills to ensure optimal customer care. It’s also important to be meticulous, as handling prescription details requires great attention to detail. There are numerous professional benefits in this work environment, including the ability to work in a relatively low-stress workplace, along with plenty of opportunities to interact with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.…
