National Association of Hispanic Nurses

Arizona College of Nursing is honored to partner with National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN); the leading organization advocating for Latino nurses in communities nationwide. While Latinos represent 18% of the US population, less than 7% of the nursing workforce is of Latino descent. Partnering with organizations such as Pfizer, United Health Group, and CVS to develop strategies to support Latino nurses and communities. Arizona College of Nursing will also develop an annual scholarship for pre-licensure nursing students that will be awarded at the annual NAHN conference. The criteria for this scholarship will be developed in partnership with NAHN with the inaugural award scheduled for the summer of 2022.

Since 1975 NAHN has been the nation’s leading professional society for Latino nurses.  With a growing membership in 47 local chapters, NAHN represents the voices of Latino nurses in our country. NAHN is devoted to promoting safe, quality health care delivery to Latino communities and individuals, and recognizes excellence among Latino nurses, provides formal and informal mentoring opportunities, and generally serves as a center of excellence for its members. Their goal is to create a cadre of highly qualified Latino nurses by advancing educational, professional and leadership skills and opportunities for its membership.
