Career Prep: Starting Out Strong in Nursing

Nursing Careers

Medical InterviewChoosing to work toward a degree in nursing is a smart and rewarding choice for your professional future. Sure, nursing jobs are projected to grow 6% from 2022-2032 and the median pay is may be attractive, but none of that compares to the experiences and fulfillment you’ll have helping a wide variety of patients each day. As a hands-on nursing school in Arizona, we give aspiring nurses a well-rounded curriculum that helps to prepare them for the challenging, diverse field of healthcare.

Check out why attending our nursing program will help you start a career as a registered nurse.

Be Credible with a Bachelors

There are several routes available to becoming a nurse. You can try your hand as an orderly or nurse’s aide and hope to eventually work your way up (with some schooling along the way), attend a 2-year program and get your Associates degree, become a licensed practical (LPN) or vocational nurse (LVN) by attending an accredited program, or earn your bachelors to become a registered nurse.

All options are certainly worth looking into, but getting your Bachelor of Science in Nursing is one of the best ways to establish credibility for yourself, which can in turn lead to better job placement and great work environments.

High Volume, Authentic Clinical Rotation Hours

You can research and research all you want about what being a nurse is like, but chances are nothing will be as eye-opening as witnessing a nurse’s job firsthand. Each student that goes through our Nursing Program is exposed to nearly 877 hours of clinical rotations. Learn from the brightest physicians, nurses, healthcare professionals and even patients to get an accurate sense of what a registered nurse’s day-to-day life is like.

Variance in Coursework

Our curriculum includes general lectures given by experienced staff to hands-on lab courses using modern computer and laboratory simulation exercises. We want each of our nursing students to be well adjusted for various types of situations and interactions, which is why we also incorporate role playing, small group studies, collaborative discussions between faculty and students, and dig into plenty of developing case studies as part of our coursework.

Student Support

At our nursing school in Arizona, you’ll never be just another number to us and we empower students to reach their true potential. Students can take advantage of tutoring-by-appointment to stay sharp in their studies. When you finish your coursework, clinical rotations and pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), you can utilize Arizona College’s Career Services department to find the work environment and position perfect for you. We review your resume, conduct mock interviews with you and offer professional interviewing advice suited to the role(s) you’re applying to.
